a new message for Yom Kippur 2016 meditation (2): according to Torah

RomansTree of Life Version (TLV)
Gods Judgment on Unrighteousness
Therefore you are without excuse, O manevery one of you who is judging. For by whatever you judge another, you condemn yourself. For you who judge practice the same thingsa]”>[a] We know that Gods judgment on those who practice such things is based on truthBut you, O manjudging those practicing such things yet doing the samedo you suppose that you will escape the judgment of GodOr do you belittle the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patiencenot realizing that Gods kindness leads you to repentance?
But by your hard and unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath, when Gods righteous judgment is revealedb]”>[b] He will pay back each person according to his deedsc]”>[c] To those who by perseverance in doing good are seeking glory, honor, and immortalityeternal lifeBut to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousnesswrath and furyThere will be trouble and hardship for every human soul that does evilto the Jew first and also to the Greek10 But there will be glory, honor, and shalom to everyone who does goodto the Jew first and also to the Greek.11 For there is no partiality with God.d]”>[d]
12 For all who have sinned outside of Torah will also perish outside of Torah, and all who have sinned according to Torah will be judged by Torah13 For it is not the hearers of Torahwho are righteous before God; rather, it is the doers of Torah who will be justified.14 For when Gentiles, who do not have the Torah, do by nature the things of the Torah, they are a law to themselves even though they do not have the Torah15 They show that the work of the Torah is written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts switching between accusing or defending them 16 on the day when God judges the secrets of men according to my Good News through Messiah Yeshua.
Jewish People Fall Short Too
17 But if you call yourself Jewish and rely upon the Torah and boast in God 18 and know His will and determine what matters because you are instructed from the Torah— 19 and you are sure that you are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness20 a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of the immature, having in the Torah the embodiment of knowledge and the truth
21 you then who teach another, do you not teach yourself?
You who preach not to steal, do you steal?
22
You who say not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery?
You who detest idols, do you rob temples?
23
You who take pride in the Torah,
through your violation of the Torah, do you dishonor God?
24
For as it is written, “the name of God is slandered among the nations because of you.”e]”>[e]
25 Circumcision is indeed worthwhile if you keep the Torah; but if you break the Torah, your circumcision has become uncircumcisionf]”>[f] 26 Therefore, if the uncircumcised keeps the righteous decrees of the Torah, will not his uncircumcision be counted as circumcisiong]”>[g]27 Indeed, the one not circumcised physically who fulfills the Torah will judge youh]”>[h] whoeven with the written codei]”>[i] and circumcisionbreak the Torah.28 For one is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision something visible in the flesh29 Rather, the Jew is one inwardly, and circumcision is of the heartin Spirit not in letter. His praise is not from men, but from God.j]”>[j]

JohnTree of Life Version (TLV)
Water to Wine
On the third day, there was a wedding at Cana in the GalileeYeshuas mother was there, and Yeshua and His disciples were also invited to the weddingWhen the wine ran outYeshuas mother said to Him, “They dont have any wine!”
Yeshua said to her, “Woman, what does this have to do with you and Me? My hour hasnt come yet.”
His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever He tells you.”
Now there were six stone jars, used for the Jewish ritual of purification, each holding two to three measuresa]”>[a] Yeshua said to them, “Fill the jars with water!” So they filled them up to the topThen He said to them, “Take some water out, and give it to the headwaiter.” And they brought it.
Now the headwaiter did not know where it had come from, but the servants who had drawn the water knew. As the headwaiter tasted the water that had become wine, he calls the bridegroom 10 and says to him, “Everyone brings out the good wine first, and whenever they are drunk, then the worse. But youve reserved the good wine until now!” 11 Yeshua did this, the first of the signs, in Cana of the GalileeHe revealed His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.
Yeshua Purges the Temple
12 After this Yeshua went down to Capernaum with His mother, brothers,b]”>[b] and disciples, and they stayed there a few days13 The Jewish feast of Passover was near, so Yeshua went up to Jerusalem14 In the Temple, He found the merchants selling oxen, sheep, and doves; also the moneychangers sitting there15 Then He made a whip of cords and drove them all out of the Temple, both the sheep and oxen. He dumped out the coins of the moneychangers and overturned their tables16 To those selling doves, He said, “Get these things out of here! Stop making My Fathers house a marketplace!”17 His disciples remembered that it is written, “Zeal for your House will consume Me!”c]”>[c]
18 The Judean leaders responded, “What sign do You show us, since You are doing these things?”
19 Destroy this Temple,” Yeshua answered them, “and in three days I will raise it up.”
20 The Judean leaders then said to Him, “Forty-six years this Temple was being built, and You will raise it up in three days?” 21 But He was talking about the temple of His body22 So after He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He was talking about this. Then they believed the Scripture and the word that Yeshua had spoken.
23 Now when He was in Jerusalem for the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name, seeing the signs He was doing24 But Yeshua did not entrust Himself to them, because He knew all men25 He did not need anyone to testify about man, for He knew what was in man.

a new message for Yom Kippur 2016 meditation (3): Sun of Righteousness

Romans 3 Tree of Life Version (TLV)
No One Is Acceptable
3 Then what is the advantage of being Jewish? Or what is the benefit of circumcision? 2 Much in every way. First of all, they were entrusted with the sayings of God. 3 So what if some did not trust? Will their lack of faith nullify God’s faithfulness? 4 May it never be! Let God be true even if every man is a liar, as it is written,
“that You may be righteous in Your words
and prevail when You are judged.”[a]
5 But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say? God is not unrighteous to inflict wrath, is He? (I am speaking in human terms.) 6 May it never be! For otherwise, how will God judge the world? 7 But if by my lie the truth of God abounds to His glory, why am I still judged as a sinner? 8 And why not say, “Let us do evil, so that good may come”—just as we are being slandered and as some claim that we say. Their condemnation is deserved!
9 What then? Are we better than they? No, not at all.[b] For we have already made the case that all—both Jewish and Greek people—are under sin. 10 As it is written,
“There is no one righteous—no, not one.
11 There is no one who understands,
no one who seeks after God.
12 All have turned aside;
together they have become worthless.
There is no one who does good—no, not even one!
13 Their throat is an open grave;
with their tongues they keep deceiving.
The poison of vipers is under their lips.
14 Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.
15 Their feet are swift to shed blood.
16 Ruin and misery are in their paths,
17 and the way of shalom they have not known.
18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.”[c]
19 Now we know that whatever the Torah says, it says to those within the Torah, so that every mouth may be shut and the whole world may become accountable to God. 20 For no human, on the basis of Torah observance, will be set right in His sight[d]—for through the Torah comes awareness of sin.
How God Accepts Us
21 But now God’s righteousness apart from the Torah has been revealed, to which the Torah and the Prophets bear witness— 22 namely, the righteousness of God through putting trust in Messiah Yeshua,[e] to all who keep on trusting. For there is no distinction, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. 24 They are set right as a gift of His grace, through the redemption that is in Messiah Yeshua. [f] 25 God set forth Yeshua as an atonement,[g] through faith in His blood, to show His righteousness in passing over sins already committed. 26 Through God’s forbearance, He demonstrates His righteousness at the present time—that He Himself is just and also the justifier of the one who puts his trust in Yeshua.[h]
27 Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. By what principle? Of works? No, but by the principle of faith. [i] 28 For we consider a person to be set right apart from Torah observance. 29 Is God the God of the Jewish people only? Is He not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also. 30 Since God is One, He will set right the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith. 31 Do we then nullify the Torah through faithfulness? May it never be! On the contrary, we uphold the Torah.

John 3 Tree of Life Version (TLV)
A Pharisee Comes Seeking Truth
3 Now there was a man, a Pharisee named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jewish people. 2 He came to Yeshua at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that You, a teacher, have come from God. For no one can perform these signs which You do unless God is with Him!”
3 Yeshua answered him, “Amen, amen I tell you, unless one is born from above,[a] he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
4 “How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus said to Him. “He cannot enter his mother’s womb a second time and be born, can he?”
5 Yeshua answered, “Amen, amen I tell you, unless one is born of water and spirit,[b] he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not be surprised that I said to you, ‘You all must be born from above.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
The Father’s Love Revealed
9 “How can these things happen?” Nicodemus said.
10 Yeshua answered him, “You’re a teacher of Israel and you do not understand these things? 11 Amen, amen I tell you, We speak about what We know and testify about what We have seen. Yet you all do not receive Our testimony! 12 If you do not believe the earthly things I told you, how will you believe when I tell you about heavenly things? 13 No one has gone up into heaven except the One who came down from heaven—the Son of Man. 14 Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert,[c] so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 so that whoever believes in Him may have eternal life!
16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. 18 The one who believes in Him is not condemned; but whoever does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not put his trust in the name of the one and only Ben-Elohim.
19 “Now this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world and men loved the darkness instead of the light,[d] because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone who does evil hates the light and does not come to the light, so that their deeds will not be exposed. 21 But whoever practices the truth comes to the light, so that it may be made known that his deeds have been accomplished in God.”
The Living Word, Source of Life
22 Afterwards, Yeshua and His disciples came to the land of Judea. There He was staying with them and immersing. 23 Now John also was immersing at Aenon near Salim, because much water was there and many were coming and being immersed; 24 for John had not yet been thrown into prison.
25 Now an argument came up between John’s disciples and a Judean concerning purification. 26 They came to John and said, “Rabbi, the One who was with you beyond the Jordan, the One you testified about—look, He is immersing, and all are coming to Him!”
27 John answered, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven. 28 You yourselves testify that I said, ‘I am not the Messiah,’ but rather, ‘I am sent before Him.’ 29 The one who has the bride is the bridegroom, but the best man rejoices when he stands and hears the bridegroom’s voice. So now my joy is complete! 30 He must increase, while I must decrease.”
31 The One who comes from above is above all. The one who is from the earth is of the earth, and of the earth he speaks. The One who comes from heaven is above all. 32 And what He has seen and heard, He testifies to that; yet no one receives His testimony. 33 Whoever receives His testimony has certified that God is true.
34 The One whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Ruach without limit. 35 The Father loves the Son and has given everything into His hand. 36 He who trusts in the Son has eternal life. He who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
