GOD'S SPOKEN WORD IN THE SPIRIT -THE END TIMES WORD-SWORD

GOD'S SPOKEN WORD IN THE SPIRIT -THE END TIMES WORD-SWORD
THE WAR BETWEEN TWO TYPES OF WORD
Daniel 11:32-33
And those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong and carry out great exploits. And those of the people who understand shall instruct many; yet for many days they shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plundering.
(Watchman's notes: two types of word here. The devil's word corrupt those who do wicked deeds with flattery. God's word edifies and builds up those who know Him.)
JESUS REVEALED HIMSELF WITH SWORD FROM HIS MOUTH
Revelation 1:16
He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength.
(Watchman's notes: Jesus revealed Himself with the word of God as sword coming out of His mouth. His word works as sword!)
Revelation 2:12
[ The Compromising Church ] “And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write, ‘These things says He who has the sharp two-edged sword:
Revelation 2:16
Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth. (Watchman's notes: the only way to avoid being killed by the word-sword is to repent immediately. )
Revelation 6:4
Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.
(Watchman's notes: the agent of conflict used word. Refer to James 3)
Revelation 6:8
So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.
(Watchman's notes: even death and hades receive power through the words. And they kill. Refer to James 3)
Revelation 13:10
He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
(Watchman's notes: TWO TYPES OF SWORDS HERE; the words of the devil vs the word of God)
Revelation 13:14
And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived.
(Watchman's notes: the word of God can wound the powerful enemy even at end time!)
Revelation 19:15
Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. (Watchman's notes: the Lord Himself will rule the nations with His word.)
Revelation 19:21
And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.
(Watchman's notes: the final end time victory is to be won by the word of God!)
HOW THE WATCHMAN USES THE WORD OF GOD (AS SWORD)
Jeremiah 47:5-7
5 Baldness has come upon Gaza, Ashkelon is cut off With the remnant of their valley. How long will you cut yourself?
6 “O you sword of the Lord, How long until you are quiet? Put yourself up into your scabbard, Rest and be still!
7 How can it be quiet, Seeing the Lord has given it a charge Against Ashkelon and against the seashore? There He has appointed it.”
Jeremiah 5:13-15
13 And the prophets become wind,
For the word is not in them.
Thus shall it be done to them.”

14 Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts:
Because you speak this word,
Behold, I will make My words in your mouth fire,
And this people wood, And it shall devour them.

15 Behold, I will bring a nation against you from afar,
O house of Israel,” says the Lord.
“It is a mighty nation, It is an ancient nation, A nation whose language you do not know,
Nor can you understand what they say.

Ezekiel 3:16-17 Now it came to pass at the end of seven days that the word of the Lord came to me, saying,  “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me:
Psalm 149:6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand,Isaiah 49:2 And He has made My mouth like a sharp sword; In the shadow of His hand He has hidden Me, And made Me a polished shaft; In His quiver He has hidden Me.”

How to hear God and use the word of God to heal

healing God's way
God sent His word to heal
The watchman recently suffered an acute and painful attack on his back and could hardly lie on his bed or rise after he lied down. He reached a point when he dreaded sleeping as it would involve lying down in excruciating pain and thereafter getting up with the same suffering. He was deprived of sleep and rest.
He was then urged by someone to read a testimony about a man encountering a severe motor accident wherein he broke four bones at different parts of his body and was bleeding and in shock when he was brought to the church. He lived divine and did not take medicine or use any medical facilities. The watchman actually had seen this man a few days after the accident as he happened to attend a seminar at that same church. The man recovered totally without any treatment except prayers, worship and proclaiming Bible verses.
In the written testimony the man quoted a number of Bible verses to which he clung when he was in the healing process. When the watchman read this, he was led by the Holy Spirit to take hold of one particular Bible verse:
Ephesians 5:30 “For we are members of His body,[a] of His flesh and of His bones.”
By faith he proclaimed this Bible verse and command his body (flesh) to resume divine function as Jesus’ body would have functioned. He further by faith proclaimed 1 John 4:17, “As He is, so are we in this world.”
He woke the next day without difficulty. After another day he woke and rose with no trace of the pain! The watchman was healed after receiving the word of God and duly proclaiming them by faith.
_______________________________________________
It is indeed wonderful to be able to hear God and obey His words. But many have told the watchman that they wanted to hear God and could not. Why? During interceding for his loved ones, the watchman asked the Lord today and received the answer as follows:
James 3:14-16  “14 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. 16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.”
The Lord explains, when you seek yourself, how can you be seeking God? You will only hear your own voice and not God’s voice! You would be busy devising your own way and means by your own earthly, sensual and demonic wisdom. You would not be able to hear God’s will or obey His word.

Jesus has thus warned,

Matthew 7:21-23 (NKJV)
I Never Knew You
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
O watchman, take heed of the Lord’s words.

YOM KIPPUR BREAKING FAST: QUICHE, BROCCOLI, KUGEL

CRUSTLESS QUICHE WITH FETA AND ASPARAGUS

8 Servings

**Note: This recipe has not been tested in or styled by the Bon Appetit Test Kitchen.**

INGREDIENTS
1 tablespoon butter
16 stalks of asparagus, bottoms trimmed
5 eggs
1/2 cup half-and-half
1/2 cup lowfat sour cream
1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt (plus more for seasoning)
Pinch of black pepper (plus more for seasoning)
Pinch of nutmeg
3/4 cup crumbled feta cheese (sheep or goat milk feta is preferable)
1/2 cup chopped scallions (both green and white parts)
1/2 cup chopped parsley
Nonstick vegetable oil spray

PREPARATION
Preheat oven to 350°F. Cut 2 inches off the thick ends of the asparagus spears, discard those tough ends. Chop the asparagus into 1/2-inch pieces. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the asparagus pieces to the skillet. Season them with salt and pepper, then sauté them for about 5 minutes until tender-crisp. Remove from heat and allow asparagus to cool.

In a large mixing bowl beat the eggs. Whisk in the half and half, sour cream, white pepper, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg. Incorporate the crumbled feta, scallions, parsley and asparagus pieces into the mixture with a large spoon.

Liberally grease a 9-inch pie plate with cooking spray. Pour the quiche mixture directly into the pie plate. Bake for 30-40 minutes until the quiche is nicely browned. Stick a sharp knife or toothpick in the center of the quiche to test for doneness--if it comes out clean, it's done. Let quiche settle at least 10 minutes before serving.

Serve warm, at room temperature, or chilled depending on your preference. DO AHEAD: Once it has cooled, quiche can be stored covered with plastic wrap up to 5 days in the refrigerator. To reheat, place it in a 350°F oven for 10-15 minutes. Quiche will warm up more evenly if you cut it into individual pieces prior to reheating.

CRUNCHY-SWEET BROCCOLI CRAISIN SALAD

8 Servings (side salad portions)

**Note: This recipe has not been tested in or styled by the Bon Appetit Test Kitchen.**

My family has been making this salad for years; it's a mainstay dish at our family gatherings. It's perfect for the Break-Fast meal because the flavors improve as the salad marinates. Prepare it before the holiday and store it in the fridge. It will taste even better the next day.  INGREDIENTS
32 ounces broccoli florets (about 4 heads of broccoli)
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
8 scallions chopped into small rings (green part only)
1/2 cup craisins (sweetened dried cranberries)
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon white sugar
1 1/2 tablespoon white balsamic vinegar

PREPARATION
Chop broccoli florets into smaller bite-size pieces. Pour 1/2 cup of water into a medium pot and bring to a boil. Add broccoli pieces to the pot and cover. Steam the broccoli for 4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Remove broccoli pieces from the pot with a slotted spoon and place them on two layers of paper towel, allow them to drain and cool completely.

Toast the sunflower seeds in a skillet over medium heat until lightly browned. Place the toasted seeds in a large salad bowl. Add the broccoli florets, scallions and craisins to the mixing bowl.

In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sugar, and vinegar. Pour dressing over the broccoli mixture. Toss to coat the broccoli evenly with the dressing. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to marinate. Flavors improve with time. Serve chilled.

CREAMY NOODLE KUGEL

12-15 Servings

**Note: This recipe has not been tested in or styled by the Bon Appetit Test Kitchen.**

INGREDIENTS
Filling:
1 16-ounce bag of wide egg noodles
3 tablespoons of unsalted butter
3/4 cup raisins
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
3/4 cup sugar
16 ounces lowfat cream cheese
1/2 cup lowfat cottage cheese
1/4 cup lowfat sour cream
1 16-ounce can pineapple chunks
6 egg whites

Topping:
1 1/2 cups honey graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon

PREPARATION
Preheat oven to 350°F. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add egg noodles, stir, and boil until tender. Drain. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in the hot noodles and stir to coat.

Place raisins in a small pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then turn off the heat and let the raisins soak for 10 minutes. Drain.

In a food processor or blender, combine eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar, cream cheese, cottage cheese and sour cream. Blend the ingredients until creamy. Add creamy mixture and soaked raisins to the noodles in the pot. Drain the pineapple chunks and dice them into small pieces, then add them to the pot. Stir all ingredients until thoroughly mixed.

In a separate bowl, whip 6 egg whites till white and frothy. Fold the egg whites into the noodle mixture. Pour the noodles into a greased 9x13 baking dish. Combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, sugar and cinnamon in a small mixing bowl to form a crumbly topping. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the top of the kugel. Cover dish with foil and place in the oven. Bake the kugel for 40 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for 20 minutes more, until the top is golden brown.

May be served warm or cold; refrigerate if you don't plan on serving it the same day you make it. If you want to reheat your kugel, place it in a 350°F oven for 15-20 minutes; it will warm up more evenly if you cut it into individual pieces prior to reheating.

How is Yom Kippur Observed?

An Overview of Yom Kippur's Traditions and Customs

Yom Kippur commemorates the day that G‑d forgave the Jewish people for the sin of the Golden Calf. Forty days after hearing G‑d say at Mount Sinai: "You shall not have the gods of others in My presence; you shall not make for yourself a graven image," the Jews committed the cardinal sin of idolatry. Moses spent nearly three months on top of the mountain pleading with G‑d for forgiveness, and on the tenth of Tishrei it was finally granted: "I have pardoned, as you have requested."
From that moment on, this date, henceforth known as the Day of Atonement, is annually observed as a commemoration of our special relationship with G‑d, a relationship that is strong enough to survive any rocky bumps it might encounter. This is a day when we connect with the very essence of our being, which remains faithful to G‑d regardless of our outward behavior.
And while it is the most solemn day of the year, we are also joyful, confident that G‑d will forgive our sins and seal our verdict for a year of life, health, and happiness.
For nearly twenty-six hours – from several minutes before sunset on Tishrei 9 until after nightfall on Tishrei 10 – we "afflict our souls": we abstain from food and drink, do not wash or anoint our bodies, do not wear leather footwear, and abstain from spousal intimacy. We are likened to the angels, who have no physical needs. Instead of focusing on the physical, we spend much of our day in the synagogue, engaged in repentance and prayer.

Preparations

On the day before Yom Kippur, the primary mitzvah is to eat and drink in abundance. Two festive meals are eaten, one earlier in the day, and one just prior to the onset of Yom Kippur. Some of the day's other observances include requesting and receiving honey cake, in acknowledgement that we are all recipients in G‑d's world and in prayerful hope for a sweet year; begging forgiveness from anyone whom we may have wronged during the past year; giving extra charity; and the ceremonial blessing of the children.
Before sunset, women and girls light holiday candles, and everyone makes their way to the synagogue for the Kol Nidrei services.

In the course of Yom Kippur we will hold five prayer services: 1) Maariv, with its solemn Kol Nidrei service, on the eve of Yom Kippur; 2) Shacharit—the morning prayer; 3) Musaf, which includes a detailed account of the Yom Kippur Temple service; 4) Minchah, which includes the reading of the Book of Jonah.
Finally, in the waning hours of the day, we reach the climax of the day: the fifth prayer, the Neilah ("locking") prayer. The gates of Heaven, which were open all day, will now be closed—with us on the inside. During this prayer we have the ability to access the most essential level of our soul. The Holy Ark remains open throughout. The closing Neilah service climaxes in the resounding cries of "Hear O Israel... G‑d is one." Then joy erupts in song and dance (a Chabad custom is to sing the lively "Napoleon's March"), followed by a single blast of the shofar, and the proclamation, "Next year in Jerusalem."
After the fast we partake of a festive after-fast meal, making the evening after Yom Kippur a Yom Tov (festival) in its own right. We immediately begin to look forward to the next holiday and its special mitzvah: the construction of the sukkah.

Journey to see God: Genesis 1-2 “wonderfully made in God's image and likeness”

The watchman continued his “journey to see God” in the Book of Genesis, as led by the Holy Spirit, and he seeks the Lord daily as in Psalm 24:6 (“This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face.”) While seeking the Lord, he beholds the wonders that truly, “The earth is the Lord's, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein.” (Psalm 24:1)
The more he sees the more he is filled with awesome admiration for the Almighty God, Who has revealed Himself as the Creator and the Provider for all who have breath on earth. One thing that stands out in the revelation of these verses is that God is very particular about every detail of His design and pattern. The pattern for earth is in the word of God, the Bible. He required His creation to follow exactly to His original design which He considers as “GOOD”! After man sinned and had fallen short of God's glory, God provided a second creation for all who believe in Jesus Christ and His salvation on the cross, this time, through the supernatural born again experience by exactly the same ingredients: the Holy Spirit and the incorruptible seed of God -the word of God! We are specifically told by Jesus that the new creation is born of God and is of the image and likeness of God, Who is Spirit. (Joh 1:12-13, 3:5-6, 4:23-24; 1 Pet.1:23)
This is the most important truth for all who seek God.
(The watchman's notes are in brackets after the following respective verses as he read them.)
THE MAKE OF MANKIND: ACCORDING TO THE IMAGE AND LIKENESS OF GOD
Genesis 1:26-30
26 Then God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, in the likeness of ourselves; and let them rule over the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the animals, and over all the earth, and over every crawling creature that crawls on the earth.” 27 So God created humankind in his own image; in the image of God he created him: male and female he created them.28 God blessed them: God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea, the birds in the air and every living creature that crawls on the earth.” 29 Then God said, “Here! Throughout the whole earth I am giving you as food every seed-bearing plant and every tree with seed-bearing fruit. 30 And to every wild animal, bird in the air and creature crawling on the earth, in which there is a living soul, I am giving as food every kind of green plant.” And that is how it was. 31 God saw everything that he had made, and indeed it was very good. So there was evening, and there was morning, a sixth day.
(In the beginning, God already stated that He rules over all. However, He made humankind in His image and likeness, so that they could be given the power of attorney to rule over all the earth in His name. As long as humankind remain in God's image and likeness, they may carry out this kingly responsibility.)
(Jesus has similarly warned on this subject: in John 15:4-6 4 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. 5  I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.” )
(As Jesus has declared, unless Christians are of the image and likeness of Jesus Himself, they are of no use in the kingdom of God!)

GOD DESIGNED AN IDEAL LIFE FOR MANKIND AND ALL LIVING CREATURES
Genesis 2 (CJB)
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, along with everything in them. 2 On the seventh day God was finished with his work which he had made, so he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 God blessed the seventh day and separated it as holy; because on that day God rested from all his work which he had created, so that it itself could produce.
(God showed how He designed an ideal life. He created a brand new world and made sure everything was well and orderly and provided the best for the inhabitants. He set out one day to mark the completion and at the same time to provide refreshment for those who abide in His rest. Only by drawing near to God and resting in the presence of God can one be refreshed and made ready for the next phase of good work. To God the day of rest is set apart for Him only. No one is to pursue self interest on that day. God only asks for one day out of seven days. But the carnal Christians complain that is too much!)
ONLY GOD CAN PROVIDE THE BEST ENVIRONMENT AND RESOURCES FOR AN IDEAL LIFE ON EARTH
(A: iv, S: ii) 4 Here is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created. On the day when Adonai, God, made earth and heaven, 5 there was as yet no wild bush on the earth, and no wild plant had as yet sprung up; for Adonai, God, had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no one to cultivate the ground. 6 Rather, a mist went up from the earth which watered the entire surface of the ground.
(Even the growth of wild plants require the rain input from God. When God stops rain no plants can grow. Just look at the horrors of prolonged drought around the world today and we know how true this is! Man can never create water out of nothing.)
MEN AND TREES WERE MADE FROM THE SAME MATERIALS: DUST
7 Then Adonai, God, formed a person from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, so that he became a living being. 8 Adonai, God, planted a garden toward the east, in ‘Eden, and there he put the person whom he had formed. 9 Out of the ground Adonai, God, caused to grow every tree pleasing in appearance and good for food, including the tree of life in the middle of the garden and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
(God created man and trees out of the earth/ground. Yet He treated the man as special. He gave man His breath to make him alive. He even took care to make sure the trees are pleasing to look at and good for food so the man would be attracted to eat them and survive on earth!)
WATERS FROM HEAVEN AND WATERS FROM EARTH
10 A river went out of ‘Eden to water the garden, and from there it divided into four streams. 11 The name of the first is Pishon; it winds throughout the land of Havilah, where there is gold. 12 The gold of that land is good; aromatic resin and onyx stone are also found there. 13 The name of the second river is Gichon; it winds throughout the land of Kush. 14 The name of the third river is Tigris; it is the one that flows toward the east of Ashur. The fourth river is the Euphrates.
(God cares for the earth He created. He provides rivers of waters for the earth. The physical rivers store waters for the earth. Rivers on earth can run dry. There are spiritual storehouses for waters in heavens. When the windows of heaven are opened, the rain pours down, as in the case of the great flood at Noah's time. Rain from heaven evidences God's blessings. Duet.28:12a (CEB) “The Lord will open up for you his own well-stocked storehouse, the heavens, providing your land with rain at just the right time and blessing all your work.” )
(Note the provision of “rivers of living water for the hearts” of those who believe in Jesus, John 7:38. Like the earth, man's body needs physical water to survive. However, there is now another “water” which man's total survival must have, the Spirit of the Lord. The Holy Spirit in the believers flows, nourishes and strengthens the inner man. Praying in the Spirit is an important way to tap into this mighty river within us.)
